Coyote Creek Solar Farm

Cutting down trees to install a solar farm is like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Tree leaves have stoma pores. The pores take in carbon dioxide. Our fossel fuel based economy has emitted too much carbon dioxide; therefore, Earth is warming and sea-levels are rising.

On November 18, 2025, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the Coyote Creek Agrivoltaic Ranch Project. Roughly 3,500 trees in the two square mile area may be cut down.

The intended customer for the solar farm was SMUD. However, because of our community's backlash, SMUD cancelled the purchase agreement.

Nonetheless, the solar farm has been approved. If the developer finds another customer for the electricity, then the sawing may begin. I forecast a cryptocurrency company will build nearby. Crypto mining consumes large amounts of energy.
